My Background
and Approach
My journey to midwifery began at a young age, I always dreamed of being an OBGYN or an Obstetric nurse. I began my journey in middle school becoming a part of the health careers program. I was trained as a nurse’s aide. I continued my healthcare journey in high school. I worked in the heath field for over 27 years. In 2020 I answered the calling on my life and began my training as a postpartum doula, then a birthing doula and was called into midwifery. I was asked to attend unassisted births after which I trained as a traditional community midwife.
Philosophy
I believe in restoring the community birthing and postpartum experience. Birth is a natural occurrence and is not an emergency . I strive to return back to the ancient path where the community comes together and cares for mothers in their postpartum stage. Tearing down the image of popping out a baby and going right back into the field. As a mother of five I know first hand the need for proper healing and a great support system.
